You do not have to play a sport and there is no religious affiliation. We have a terrific time playing games. Band

Welcome to...

  EHMS HURRICANE WINDS!

(Band/Instrumental Music Program)

The EHMS band program is a vibrant, growing program designed to enhance student’s creativity and love of life while instilling in them a  lifelong love of instrumental music!!!!

Studies have concluded that students that engage in the learning of music….particularly instrumental music…..tend to show an increase in intelligence, test scores, college scholarship opportunities, social skills, personal well being and personal achievement.  The studying and performance of music envelopes and exercises academic skills such as reading, the learning of a language, math, cultural studies, science and teaches teamwork!  Middle school band is especially rewarding as it is in the younger years when the capacity for learning is developed. It is also a fantastic time to try new activities!!

BAND is a GREAT path for success!!

Made up of approximately 160 members, our band explores music from various band method books, plays enriching and fun music, performs at pep rallies, concertizes in the local community and in house!

Our band has adopted a local assisted living community as an outreach of our band!  We send encouraging notes, letters, cozy items and hope to perform for that community this spring!

There are many ways to become involved in our middle school band program as a band parent.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. Coats!

 EHMS Canes Choir

Welcome!!

I am so happy you are visiting our site!

EHMS Canes Choir is a group of students who come together to sing, and to learn about singing.

…and music,

…and math,

…and history,

…and other cultures,

…and ourselves!

My goal is to teach students the fundamentals of music, to help them become independent musicians, and to help them become confident singers who have an appreciation for music.

NOTE: Please know that we run a COVID-cautious Choir Room. We honor proper distancing, and monitor the time we spend singing together.

because it can change people.” – Bono
